University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust have deployed Nervecentre's WISE software throughout their Emergency Department, to stay in line with the growing demand of patient usage.

The midlands trust are the first in the UK to implement the workflow and information system - which manages all interactions within ED, from triage to admittance, by offering pathway management and visibility of patient status.

“With up to 600 patients each day through our Emergency Department, switching to a new electronic workflow and patient information system in the department was a big step up for us,” John Clarke, Chief Information Officer at the trust told Health IT Central.
“It was important that we updated our Emergency Department systems to provide a clinically focused platform to support the work of our Emergency Department staff, and provide a fully integrated experience across the hospital.”
The mobile-based software, which has replaced the previously used
Emergency Department Information System (EDIS), was chosen in July of last year due to the lack of funding needed to implement Cerner - the trust's original plan.
