Great Ormond Street NHS Foundation trust have selected Epic as their preferred electronic patient record supplier.

The system, which has only been successfully deployed once in the UK - Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Trust, has previously struggled to impose itself on the British market.
But the State-side monster has found traction of late, especially within the south of England - with University College London Hospitals also choosing the highly-priced system as their preferred supplier in November 2016.

Coupling that with Great Ormond Street's decision to also go against the London grain and stay away from Cerner, it seems that Epic are on the rise.
Many were left shocked that the Americanised EPR was even still being considered for new deployments following the calamitous implementation of Cambridge, but GOSH were impressed with how the system had recovered after its troublesome birth.
“It was clear [Cambridge] have put their initial problems behind them and the system was delivering significant benefits and supporting the organisation to deliver better clinical care”, the London trust told Digital Health.
The trust plan to go-live with their new cloud-based Epic system in 2019.
